Legal Name: Cooked Black Chickpeas in Water (Kala Chana).

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place. Once opened, transfer contents to a non-metallic container, refrigerate and consume within 2 days.

Preparation:

1. Drain and rinse the Kala Chana.

2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté mustard seeds, curry leaves and onions.

3. Add the chickpeas, salt and spices, then cook for 5 minutes.

4. Garnish with grated coconut and serve as South Indian Kala Chana Sundal.
